The game of reaching out to target audience has always been at the top of the card, because the more a film appeals to the cine goers, the better are its chances to lead. This year has been special in terms of doling out some eccentric cinematic extravaganza, especially aimed at viewers who consider adventure as a turn on.

Of the innumerable films released in 2011, many succeeded to enter the bracket of the most-sought after tableaus of all time, not just because they met the popular demands and preferences, but also because they managed to take the experiencing of watching movies to the next level.

From adventure rides of Captain Jack Sparrow in the latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, to the last smile of victory from Harry in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -Part 2, almost every movie etched an everlasting impression in our hearts.

And while we reveled in the excitement of action, all of us certainly wished that the coming year also brings similar blasts of never-ending adventure. This year, the list of popular movies is also crowded with spectacular works of animation, and as expected, films like Arthur Christmas, Rango, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Happy Feet Two, had adventure as their core element. And that might be the reason why online searches of all animated movies witnessed a great surge.

It's worth mentioning that besides the extensive show of action, we had storylines replete with some edge of the seat suspense this year. The riddle whether or not Harry would be able to bring down Lord Voldemort, or how Bella and Edward's future would shape up, kept the fans at tenterhooks.

Never before have popular movies created such hype and it is not that the bubble of anticipation has busted after the release of the movies of 2011, for they would continue to rule the box office for a considerable period of time.

Having mentioned that most of the 2011releases celebrated youth and exuberance, it doesn't mean that they had nothing to offer to the audiences of other age groups. In fact, the extensive use of 3D effects in most of the films, added an extra edge to them for attracting the attention of all and one.

That apart, it has also been a year of sequels, which had us glued to screens with newfound interest. Hit franchises like Harry Potter, Twilight, Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers deserve to make it to the list of popular movies online.

And you can't let even a single one of them skip your attention. After all, having the most popular movies of the year at your disposal will help you re-celebrate the essence of the youth and exuberance in a new year!
