Christian Louboutin Sale
A series of leaked emails between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife,Christian Louboutin Sale
emerged last week revealing the couple's luxury goods habit - and Asma's liking for Louboutins. The Guardian gained access to 3,000 emails it believes to be genuine correspondence between the two, detailing their shopping habits and music taste, as well as private family photographs and videos. Included in the messages is a group email Asma addressed to a friend and family member on 3rd February, 2012. Entitled “Christian Louboutin shoes coming shortly,” Asma's note offers not-for-general-sale shoes by French fashion darling Christian Louboutin. Among the red-soled pumps to catch Asma's eye were a pair of crystal-encrusted 6 inch “Daffodile” heels, that come with a colossal $6,000 price-tag to match. Asma's friends kindly reject her offer, replying: “ ur always thinking of us.. thank u so much.” Last year, Vogue praised Asma in a flattering profile that characterized her as “glamorous, young, and very chic-the freshest and most magnetic of first ladies.” Gawker notes the ill-timed article has since been removed from Vogue's website.
Emails between iTunes and Bashar al-Assad's account also give insight into the President's music taste. Purchases display an eclectic range of country and pop, including tunes by Blake Shelton and Chris Brown. Among last year's purchases were chart-toppers such as Hurt by Leona Lewis. Assad also bought the racy LMFAO dance hit, Sexy and I Know It. In a year of violence that has killed more than 8,000 Syrians, the documents portray a family insulated from the bloody rebellion in a life of luxury. Only one item on the family's shopping list hints at the country's turmoil. An email entitled “Armored Clothing,” contains links to bullet proof jackets. The Guardian justifies its exposure of these personal emails by saying: “Given the nature of the Assad regime's brutal crackdown on the Syrian people, we believe the more detailed picture of the workings of Assad's inner circle that emerges from the mails, and the extent to which he and his wife have managed to sustain their luxurious lifestyle, are also of public interest.”
