Bunty & Rory O'Connor are offering a raku workshop to take place on Sunday October 2nd and 9th from 9 am to 4 pm, in Chicklands near to the old Ajoupa Pottery factory.

Raku is a technique of firing pottery rapidly in a gas kiln and then plunging it into sawdust to cool it and develop special effects with glaze. It is an exciting process, as it is possible to properly participate in the firing process itself. Beginners and experienced potters find that the end result is never predictable. We provide all the materials that you will need, except aprons. Please also bring your lunch with you, The first day will be spent making clay pieces and the following weekend will be devoted to glazing and firing. Cost of the course is $1000TT. 8 participants maximum.
