Applications are invited for the Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting Techniques at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, commencing September 2012.

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

This programme introduces students to interpreting techniques and equipment in a wide range of Foreign Language services going from Simultaneous (booth) and Whispering Conference Interpreting to Consecutive Interpreting and Sight Translation.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

The Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting is a twenty-one (21)-credit programme that will start in September 2012 and will run until May 2013 over a minimum of 26 weeks with different formats (9 compulsory hours (weekly), seminars, practicum, day/evening, etc.).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A University Degree, preferably including a Major or Minor in one or more foreign languages (English, French and /or Spanish) with a B+ average at Level III or equivalent qualification, preferably students who have lived in a target language country for a period or periods totaling no fewer than 9 months.

COST PER STUDENT

TT$20,000 or US$ equivalent
